4th!

Happy 4th of July from our family!
This weekend we went to the Sugar Lake carnival. Brynn and Maryn went on lots of rides.
I don't like rides. I'd rather have my poppa hold me.
Daddy did take me on one ride.
I wasn't very happy about it though. He better not take me on it EVER again!
One thing I did LOVE about the Sugar Lake carnival was the Mini Donuts!
YUM!
I wonder if my mom knows how to make those?!
Actually, all of the food we had this weekend was good. Maryn especially liked her corn on the cob.
This year is the first year mom and dad let us stay up to watch the fireworks. Mom said if we didn't wear pants, the bugs might get us. Look what she made Brynn wear. What if our friends saw her like this??
(I am glad she remembered the matching pants for my pajamas...whew!)
We put on our life jackets and off we went to the fireworks on the lake.
We had to wait kind of a long time for them to start.
These are the times that I love having sisters the most!
Instead of being bored waiting, we played Ring Around the Rosie together.
We can always think of fun stuff to do!
Finally, the fireworks started. They made me want to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star!"
Did you know that the 4th of July is America's birthday?
Grammy helped us make cupcakes for America.
We even got to blow out the candles!
Happy Birthday America!
Love,
Leah
Maryn
And Brynn

Father's Day

Hi! Maryn here. Last Sunday was a day all about daddies.
I want to tell you about some of the most important daddies in my life.
This is my Great Grandpa Red.
He is very special to me. Do you know he is over 90 YEARS older than I am?
I love to give him kisses.
(I even shared my nonnie with him...now that says special!)
Did you know that Poppa Jeff is daddy's daddy?
Our poppa is very special to us too.
Our poppa gives us tractor rides, takes naps with us at Sugar Lake, takes us to the park, and even sometimes to Old McDonalds!
Our Papa Mark is our mommy's daddy. We love him bunches!
He takes us golfing, teaches us to play piano and always brings us out for breakfast when we sleepover!
Of all of the daddies in the whole world, we think God gave us the best.
Every afternoon we wait and wait for him to come home from work. There is just nothing better than daddy play time. Daddy sings us songs and holds our hands every night while he tucks us in.
Thank you God for giving us our daddy!
It was a pretty hot day on Daddy's day, so we played mermaid.
(one of our favorite summertime games!)
And...since this IS my post, I thought I'd add a few extra pictures of myself.
Here is a picture of me with my puppy Reese.

And this picture shows you just how much I love my nonnies.
(It is better to have lots incase you lose one, or mommy or daddy take one away. I always have a spare)
I hope you had a very special day with your daddy!
XO,
Maryn

The BBW

Hi! It's Leah!
I wanted to tell you about something that's been on my mind lately.
I know my daddy is really strong and brave, so I am not scared of much stuff, but lately there is one thing that has been getting me down.
For the past couple of weeks, I have been getting up at night and running to my mommy and daddy's bed cause I have been having bad dreams. Bad dreams about the BBW (aka. the Big Bad Wolf!)
Sometimes, I lay awake in my bed worried that the BBW will come to my neighborhood and BLOW MY HOUSE DOWN while me and my sisters are sleeping.
Well, you know what my papa Mark said that he did to the BBW???
He said that he beat him up and put him in a box, and then threw the box in the garbage can and then the garbage man came and took the Big Bad Wolf to "far, far away" so that I never have to worry about him again.
I think it's true, cause I checked the garbage can and he wasn't there.
Either way, I am really glad that our house is made of brick and not straw.
STAY far, far away you Big Bad Wolf!
From,
Leah

Changes

Hi! Maryn here!
There have been some big changes in our house since last time we updated.
Change #1: Mommy went back to work. Only 3 days a week. AND...she works at our "school" (aka. church), which is pretty cool! When our class goes out to play, we get to see our mommy in her office. What's up mom!

Change #2: Big girl undies. I don't like this change. Not one bit. I'm not converting.
Brynn and Leah decided to go with the flow, though in the beginning, they were resistant too.
Here is a picture of them throwing away their diapers. Bye-Bye diapers, Hello big girl panties.

We basically sat around and drank A LOT of juice and water.
Until we felt that urge,
Then, we waited...and waited...
...and waited, and waited

and waited and wated...
for SUCCESS!
(and a chance to ring the potty bell! Woo Hoo!)
Of course, there were some accidents
but, by the end of the weekend, Brynn and Leah were wearing big girl panties.
Good for them, but I'm not quite ready for that program!
I do things on MY OWN time.
We did have some fun over the weekend too!
Our friends KK and Natalie came over (they have a cabin on our lake) and we played.
Daddy pulled us on the tube behind his tractor.
We played with our "brellas" in the rain
We even got to have a PJ party and a bonfire!
Maybe someday soon, I'll decide to wear big girl panties like my sisters. But, for now, diapers are good enough for me.
I'm in no hurry!
Love,
Maryn
