"Aside"

Most days we have to stand at the door and BEG to go "aside", but we must have been REALLY good girls this week cause we got to spend the whole weekend in the sun!

We went to the zoo, and we petted the animals.
The goats were our favorite! They're so silly! We fed them some treats! (we thought the goat treats looked kinda yummy, we tried to eat them too, but mommy caught us...darn!) It tickled when they licked our fingers. Those goofy goats!

After the zoo, we went to the cabin to spend some time with our family. It was a blast. We also went to a carnival. Here we are on our way....

We went on lots of rides. After all of our tickets were gone, Brynnie kept asking mommy and daddy to "swing" (which, just in case you don't understand our language, means to go on more rides)....none of us wanted to leave!

Here we are having dinner with Mimi and Papa.

Wanna know what else we learned this week? We learned to say "no". We certainly let mommy and daddy know what we want.
For your reference...
Here's a little triplet language breakdown: (a few words you might need to know in case we're trying to tell you something!)
Aside=Outside
Milk=Something to drink, could be milk, water, juice, whatever
Nonnie=Nuk
Nack=Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or an actual snack
Sister=Sister (LOVE hearing that one)
Shoes=Shoes (we say the word shoes very clearly, but to us shoes=bye bye, so that is pretty exciting! If you say shoes, you better be taking us somewhere! :)
Nigh Night=Good Night
Swin=Swing (or go on more rides)
Beep, Beep=Car
Of course we know all of the "easy" ones too, but those are pretty clear and easy to understand.
We know lots of words, we think we're pretty smart! ;) We had a fun weekend, hope you did too!
Love,
MBL

On My Heart

Like a lot of the rest of you, I got sucked into the "season premiere" of Jon and Kate Plus 8 tonight. I have to tell you that I watched the show with a broken heart. It is easy to judge. Maybe she is tough on him...maybe he was caught in a compromising position...we'll probably never know the whole truth. What I do know is this...having higher order multiples is HARD.

My baby girls are my ultimate blessing, but being a mother to 18 month old triplets has also been a challenge far greater than my words can express. Parents of higher order multiples (triplets, quads, quints, etc.) are 3 times as likely to get a divorce as the general population. It's so easy to spend your life making sure your kids are safe and happy that you forget to focus on the love that brought your miracles into the world in the first place.

Tonight, I just feel the need to say thank you. Thank you to my parents and my in-laws for the love you have shown, not only to our kids, but to us. Thank you for giving us time alone together to focus on each other and build up our marriage. Thank you for being brave enough to take 3 toddlers so that we can have a date night...alone...together. What we can't do by ourselves, we do as a family. It really does take a village to raise a child. (or 3 in our case) Thank you to our entire village! You know who you are! We are eternally grateful!

Beach Babes

Happy Summer! We just got back from a weekend in the sun with Grammie and Poppa at the lake.
What a blast!
We got to do some boating, but we had to wear these awful life jackets.

We're still not so sure about boating.

Or swimming for that matter...

But we LOVED playing outside and in the sand:

Hope you had a good weekend too!
Happy Memorial Day!
Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah

Summer Time!

Hi! Maryn Elizabeth here. It's summer time, which means mostly good things.
Good thing #1-SWIMMING in our pool! Check it out!:

Good thing #2: Playing tag in our backyard. We're Freeeeeeee!

Good thing #3: Since we wear shorts, you can really see our high heels. (or high heel. We love to wear pretty shoes, but we can't walk if we wear two...so we think wearing one is pretty.)

Good thing #4: Playin' in our house all day. Come on in Mimi!

Welcome!

Good thing #5: Snacks outside! We eat snack outside these days. And you know what is even better than snack? (yes, there is something better than snack!) The ICE CREAM TRUCK! The ice cream man comes every Tuesday night. Me and Leah like to get Popsicles. Yum!

Okay, well, summer time does have some bad stuff that comes along with it too. Like bad thing #1:Dumb hats that mom makes us wear. I try and tell her that my friends will laugh at me if I have to wear this hat. She doesn't seem to care.

Bad thing #2: Sandy butt. Thankfully, Leah came up with a solution to that.

All in all, we think summer time is pretty cool.
We're looking forward to lots of warm days to come.
Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Love,
Maryn

Our New House

You know how it feels when you REALLY want something...bad? Well, we REALLY wanted a playhouse. I mean, really really wanted one and our Papa Mark knew it.
Then, today, we went down for our nap and when we woke up...our very own house had arrived!!! Papa Mark bought us a house!
It's beautiful! It is yellow and it has a pretty pink door, and green shutters. We didn't build, it came from some other kids...but we think it's perfect! (Now, we'll all just have to agree on decorating! That might be tough for 3 girls to do!)
Tomorrow, we're playing in it all day! We'll be sure to post some pictures. Our backyard is turing into toddler dreamland! We're such lucky girls! Thank you, Papa! We love you! (and we love our new house too!)
xoxo,

Mother's Day with the Monkeys!

Happy Mother's Day! Here we are at the zoo! What a day!
We went on the rides, and saw the monkeys (which is a new word we know how to say, by the way!) We ate cotton candy, went on a train, drove some cars, and rode on ponies.
(Leah was so tired, she fell asleep on her pony. See the picture!)
Tonight will be just a quick post, cause we are exhausted, but we wanted to say happy Mother's Day to all of the mommies out there.
Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah
