Oh, What a Night!

Hi! It's Maryn! What a day! I was having kind of a hard afternoon. All I wanted was my nonnie.
I even showed mommy that I was in a bed (I only get nonnie at night/nap time) but she didn't buy it!
Cut me some slack here mom! Don't I get points for creativity?
The good news is...the day got LOTS better from there.
Mom and dad said that they had a special surprise night planned for us.
We went shopping with Mimi and Papa, and when we got out of the car, look who we saw!
Dora and Diego!!
We got to go on rides--we hopped on Azul the train!
Round and round we went on Magenta and Blue!
But, the very BEST surprise of all....we got pillow pets!!!
We went to the stand and got to pick out ANY pillow pet we wanted.
Maryn picked a "snow bear".
Brynn picked a dolphin.
Leah picked a black, white and pink zebra.
We love our pillow pets SO much!
To top off the perfect night...ice cream!
Leah even shared with mom. Yum!
Best Night EVER!
Xoxo,
MBL

Sugar Lake

Here are some pictures of us at Sugar Lake.

We love "skiiding"!

Maddie's Birthday Party

On Saturday, we went to Maddie's 3rd birthday party at the Children's museum! Oh, what a great time we had! We made crowns, blew bubbles and had cake and ice cream.
Here are some pictures.
Happy birthday Maddie!

Our Life

If you haven't noticed from the pictures, my babies are no longer babies!
They're busy-bodied, sweet yet opinionated, beautiful little toddlers.
Sometimes, I have to remind myself how beautiful the toddler age is. And sometimes...well, let's be honest...it just 'ain't that beautiful'. :)

Friday, by 10 a.m. we were all losing our minds. We HAD to get out of the house...yet mom hadn't showered in a couple of days. (surprise, surprise...no judgement, please!)
I ran upstairs to put on a hat and a touch of make-up. Less than 2 minutes later I ran back down to find my 3 darling daughters standing in a circle, passing around a bottle of ant poison. I immediately screamed (as I find myself doing at least 10,001 times a day) STOP!! Little Leah looked up at me and said "Oh, that drink is only for mommies and daddies?" Thank God I kept that Poison Control number handy!
If you have been to our house, you are wondering..."Aren't the girls gated in their playroom?" The answer to that would be, nope! My sanity saving gate has quite literally been ripped off of my wall.
(Never mind the holes and the chipping paint...I want my gate back!!)

People ask me all of the time if life has gotten easier as the girls have gotten older. The answer I give is one that I could have never understood before having kids. "No, it's just different."
Another triplet mom told me that she would 100% rather go back to overnight feedings, than have to deal with potty training again.
If I am being honest, 2.5 has been a hard age for me too.
But on the other hand....when I am having hard days, I try and focus on the amazing part of parenting triplets.
To see those little souls come into their own is nothing short of a miracle.
The way my daughters love each other, and the bond God has created in them, is a gift that I am lucky to experience first hand.
They were somehow born knowing that their bond is sacred.
This morning, when Maryn crawled into bed with us at 6:30 a.m., Peter asked her what she dreamt about.
"My sisters," she said.
Could a parent ask for a better gift?

okay...maybe her gate back, but other than that! ;)

We are blessed!

Seriously Cool Stuff!

Seriously cool thing #1: Maryn is potty trained! Go Maryn, go! No more diapers for the Jonswold's!
Seriously cool thing #2: VACATION
We got to spend 10 whole days at Sugar Lake.
We drove the tractor.
And took naps. Maryn felt so lucky that she got to lay down with her uncle Nick!
Our friend baby Faith came to visit.
We went to "Cousin's Camp"
It was a great vacation!
Seriously cool thing #3: National Night Out
Tonight was so much fun! We had a party with all of our neighbors and guess what?!?
A police car came, and a fire truck, the ice cream truck came, and even a police dog!
We got to sit in the police car and the fire truck, and they brought prizes for all of the kids.
The fire truck hooked its hose up to the fire hydrant and made a HUGE sprinkler to run though. It was AWESOME! We got soaked!
What a fun time we've had!
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer!
