A Beautiful Mess

***One year ago today was our first day home from the hospital! Long gone are nights of feeding every three hours (when every single feeding took at least an hour an a half), apnea monitors going off and having everyone in the house RUN to find Maryn who almost always was fine-just had loose lead, being sooooo tired that we needed toothpicks to keep our eyes open, endless cups of coffee and for mom-Diet Coke (as a treat even though I was pumping...which also happened every 3 hours for 6 months!), diapers, wipes, spit-up, 10,000 bibs a day, 10,000 outfits a day, which lead to 10,000 loads of laundry a day, charting feedings, who ate what? who pooped today? how many wet diapers? Who's coming to help???
Thank you to every single one of you for your amazing support. We couldn't be where we are today without you! Love, The Jonswolds***

Hi, it's Leah! I am at Mimi's house. Boy, have I had a fun day! Uncle Nick came and picked me up and we went on a super fun car ride. It was sooooo neat to spend time with my Uncle Nick. Then, I got to go to Mimi's and she got me some new clothes (she said that they were on something called "sale"...I think sale means that Grandpa thinks they are pretty.)
We took some pictures. I put one on this page for you. Don't I look like a big girl? I have such a pretty hat!

My sisters didn't get to come with this time, cause it was my turn to go to Mimi and Grandpa's by myself. I love going over there. I get to have snacks and stay up super late. (Grandpa even cuddles with me if I wake up early in the morning.Mommy and Daddy just make me go back to sleep!) My Mimi and Grandpa and Grammy and Poppa are the BEST! I love them sooooooo much!

Anyway, I just talked to Brynn and Maryn and they had a pretty fun night too.
They got to eat something called Pasghetti. I guess they liked it, they said it tasted yummy. Afterwards they got to play in the tub and then headed to bed. I am sure they miss me, but don't worry my sisters, I will be home tomorrow.
Love you!

Love,
Leah

Update on what's new:
We're crawling up the stairs, Brynn and Leah are walking all over the place, Maryn is creeping almost ready to walk, We can all show you how old we are if you ask...we'll tell you we're 1, we can say bye-bye (and wave) , mama, dada, papa, baba, and a few other words, we LOVE to play peek-a-boo and clap our hands to "if you're happy and you know it", our favorite movies are still Praise Baby and Baby Einstein, we dance to music, and we love to "hide" in our forts and in our tunnel, we're still afraid of some strangers, but who we decide we are afraid of is totally random, we love to look at ourselves in the mirror and Maryn is very into kissing (especially herself in the mirror), we hate being trapped in our playroom...the greatest thing in the world is when mommy leaves the gate open and we escape!

Chicken Poxs???

Hi! Brynn, here!
You'll never believe what we got as a late Christmas gift...Chicken Pox!!!
Mommy noticed that I had something that looked like a pimple on my head. We had a doctors appointment for something else, and when mommy showed the doctor my "zit" the doctor said it isn't a pimple at all...but the pox!!!
A couple of weeks ago we had to get an ouchy shot that was supposed to protect us from the Chicken Pox, but instead, it GAVE US Chicken Pox!
The doctor said that we are very special girls, cause that doesn't happen very often, but it does happen. Because it is from the shot, we are not supposed to be contagious (which means that we can't give it to other people).
I only have about 4-5 pox....not very many at all...and they don't bother me. I barely even notice them!
Who knew that you could get Chicken Pox from a shot???
Maybe we shouldn't have ouchy shots anymore! ;)
Love,
Brynn

It's True!!!

It's true! It's true! The bearded man in the red suit does bring presents just like auntie Lauren said!!!
Oh boy, have we had a few fun days!
On the day before Christmas, we got to go to Grammy and Poppa's house.
See! Here are some pictures:

We got this SUPER neat toy. It is a tunnel. We crawl through...or sit in the middle and giggle. Here I go!!! Look, our poppa is on the other end! Hi poppa!

We got all dressed up to celebrate Jesus's birthday. We went to our auntie Susie's house to celebrate and have lots of yummy food. We even got to stay up late!

Then we went home and we read a story about baby Jesus cause we are celebrating His birthday. We sang songs about Jesus too.

After our story, we went to sleep and when we woke up...................................

Look what was waiting for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we are in our Choo-Choo Wagon with brand new umbrellas:

And here we are checking out our new car:

Glo-Worms are Maryn's favorite:

After we opened our presents and ate breakfast, we went to spend the day with Mimi and Grandpa. Look what we got at their house...

BEEP! BEEP!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I was sooooo hungry...

Every day at 3:00 it is our snack time. Why should today have been any different?
Just like every other day we went down for our nap at 1:30, and at 3:00, I got up.
Mom put me down in the playroom and we played...and we played...and we played.
At 3:15, my sisters STILL weren't awake. 3:30...still no sisters. I was starving!
Mom went up to check on them, so I decided to put my own plan into action. First, I looked on the floor to make sure there weren't any stray Cheerios or Kicks. (sometimes me and Brynn and Maryn sneak stuff down in our pockets) Nope! Nothin' to snack on.
It was then that I noticed mom didn't tightly close the gate, so I snuck out, and decided to join Reese for a snack.

Unfortunately, mom came down and caught me in the act!

She told me that Reese's food is yucky and only for dogs and she made me spit it out.
I didn't get any in my tummy, but I did get a piece in my mouth. (I didn't think it tasted too yucky)
Thankfully, after my escape from the playroom, my mommy put me in my highchair and gave me my snack.
She says now that we are walking all over, she has to be more careful about what is on the floor. (and making sure that gates are closed tightly! We even got a brand new gate in our playroom because I am such a good escape artist!)
We both learned our lesson and agreed that as long as I get my snack on time, I promise not to eat puppy food ever again. Sometimes a girl just gets soooo hungry!
Love,
Leah

12 Month Appointment

Hi!
It's Leah! We realized that we completely forgot to update you on our 12 month doctors appointment. The bad news is that we got shots...OUCH! None of us like shots, but Maryn thinks they are the worst. She screamed sooooooooooo loud she scared all of the other kids at Dr. Oster's office. Next time me and Brynn are going to remember to cover our ears!
Good news...we're 100% healthy, normal 1 year olds! Right on track for weight, height and development for our 1 year age. (Not even our adjusted age...our REAL age!) Mommy thinks we are so smart!

Maryn 21#10 oz 30.5'' tall
Brynn 19# 12 oz 30'' tall
Leah 18 # 13 oz 29'' tall

Normal 12-15 month developmental activities that we have mastered:
-Pulls to stand (check!)
-Crusies along furniture (check!)
-Walks a few steps (check for Brynn and Leah. Maryn is getting close!)
-Plays peek-a-boo, so big and pat-a-cake (check, check and check! our favorite games, by the way!)
-Waves bye-bye (check!)
-Understands words and imitates vocalizations (check! Um yeah, we understand the word "no" very well. We sure don't like to hear it though!)
We won't give you the whole list, but you get the idea. We're such big girls!

Other new things were are doing that mommy and daddy are not so proud of:
-throwing temper tantrums when mommy or daddy say no to us. We throw ourselves on the ground, and show them we are MAD! You'll never have to guess how we are feeling! Don't worry, we'll let you know!
-biting (especially Brynn and Maryn! Maryn is a pretty good biter even though she only has her 2 bottom teeth. Look out! Don't let her gummy grin fool you!)
-pushing (I have a black eye now from my sister Maryn. She pushed me down at grammy and poppas! Ouch!)
Sometimes we have bad behavior, but we're working on those things.
Mom and dad sure don't let us get away with it when we act like bad girls, so we try and remember to always be good. It's just that sometimes it is hard. Especially, when Brynn steals my toys!

Remember that scary looking Santa guy that showed up at Mimi and Grandpa's? Auntie Lauren said that he brings toys to good little girls to celebrate Jesus's birthday. We're gonna be really good girls so he comes to our house too! (Hopefully he comes when we are sleeping though. We already met him once. I think that is enough for this year, don't you?! Maybe when we are 2 we can be more brave!)

Be sure to check out our dancing elf movie! We're so silly!
Merry Christmas!
Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah

Spooked by Santa!

We went to Mimi and Grandpa's house for what was supposed to be a fun Sunday night dinner to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. We were sitting around...just mindin' our own business...when all of the sudden...well, see for yourself...

Next time we're going to ask who's comin' to dinner before we show up!
Ho, ho, ho!!!
Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah

I Can't Believe It!

Oh no! You'll never believe it!
Leah walked before me! You know I LIKE to do stuff first. (I wasn't the first born...but that wasn't by my choice.)
Sitting up, crawling....I like to go first.
On Sunday night, Leah just stood up and decided to walk to daddy. Then she did it again, and again...
Well, I wasn't going to let her show me up so I stayed up all night in my crib practicing and by Monday morning, I was showing mommy my steps too!
I guess I have to settle for second on this one.
We're still practicing walking. We're not totally confident on our feet yet, but sometimes we decide to surprise mommy and daddy and walk.
(Maryn isn't really interested in walking yet. She says, "Why would I walk if mommy will carry me?" She can walk behind a push toy, but she just usually isn't in a hurry!)
Maryn is pretty smart though. If you ask her how old she is, she will tell you.
"Maryn, how old are you?"
(See she's one!)

Here's a picture of our superstar athlete! Go Leah go!

Us by our Christmas tree in our Christmas PJ's:

Well, Leah did walk first, but don't worry...whatever is next...I'll be sure to be first! ;)

Love, Brynn

Great Grandpa

Hi, it's Brynn.
We have some sad news to tell you today.
Our great grandpa died early this morning. Boy, was he a nice great grandpa!
He was so funny! See...here is a picture of him making me laugh.
Thankfully, we got to see him right before he got sick. We showed him our Halloween costumes. He thought we were so silly.
We're happy that we got to meet him and laugh with him.
We're going to miss him!
The good news though, is that he gets to spend Christmas with great grandma in Heaven instead of in a yucky hospital.
We love you great grandpa! We know you are laughing with Jesus and great grandma and you are not sick anymore. We love you!
Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah
