How to describe Christmas with three 2-year-olds?!

CHAOS!

P.S. Maryn goes in on Monday to see if she can get her cast off. Pray that her leg is healed! The girls are flower girls in a very special wedding on New Years Eve. We want that little leg to be able to walk down the aisle!

Are All 3 Of Those Kids Yours?

Today at the mall, somebody stopped me (and when I say stopped me, I mean literally pulled over his delivery truck) to smile and ask if "all 3 of those kids are mine?"

His question was our 3rd conversation with strangers from the parking lot to the door of the Galleria.
Another lady said, "Wow Mama, you must mean business with that stroller!"
You know it! We always mean business when we shop this time of year! :)

A third person said "I can't believe you are brave enough to go out with all 3 of them!"
My response was, "This is my life. We travel together, or we don't travel!" We're too bored locked up inside..of course we love to get out and about! (not to mention that fact that the girls are normally very good!)
Once we got into the Galleria, a sales associate walked up, looked at my trio, and said "My goodness, I can NOT imagine how long it takes for you to get out the door in the morning!"

I told her we don't normally sign up for anything before 9:15. Yes, it takes us a while.
But that got me to thinking of our night time routine with the girls. (which believe it or not takes LONGER than our morning routine)
As they have gotten older, we have slowly adoped new "traditions" into our bedtime ritual.
After we take a bath and brush our teeth, we read a story. Normally, Peter and I read to the girls (of course!), but today, I caught Maryn sitting in her rocker reading Just Incase You Ever Wonder.

After our story we are off to bed. We need to make sure we have all of our special things.
Maryn: Shes pretty easy, just blankie, nonnie and Dora the Explorer doll.
Brynn: Puppy, Froggy, Dora and blankie
Leah: Horsie, Kitty, Puppy, Puppy 2, Dora and blankie. (I'm not kidding you, I'm not sure how this child fits into her bed at night!)
Then it is on to the "love you" round. This was daddy's routine at first. Now it has just stuck.
First we do a round of knuckles. Knuckles from mommy and knuckles from daddy.

Then, comes the round of high-fives!

Then the kisses...

And finally the hugs...

We usually hear requests for "one more hug" but we try to cut it off after round 4! :)

Thankfully, after they are tucked in and "knuckled", high-fived, kissed and hugged good night, they fall asleep quickly. No more escapes as of yet. I'm sure it won't be too long!

Yes, it does take a while to get 3 two year olds in gear for anything. But 3 hugs and 3 kisses from 3 beautiful girls that I am lucky enough to call my daughters: worth every extra moment!

I Did It!

Lately, my sisters and I have heard lots of chatter about something called a toddler bed...and people making bets on who would be the first to escape their crib.

The unanimous vote was that Brynn would be the first one to escape.... and it was ME! Go Leah!!!

It took lots of practice during nap and when my sisters were sleeping at night, but I did it! Yay!

My sisters and I were in our cribs on Saturday morning, and we were sick of waiting for mom and dad to come get us, so I made my move.

THUNK!

I hit the ground pretty hard, but it was worth it.

I made it out with my blankie in hand. Mom and dad heard me standing outside of their door giggling.

I was so proud of myself.

Maybe we'll get to move into big girl beds now. I think we're ready! (But, I don't think mom is!)

We recently had our pictures taken by Annie Torrini.
What an amazing lady. If you can get good shots of three 2 year olds, I'm convinced you can do anything! :)
We are saving our favorite for our Christmas card, but here is a little preview of some of the other pictures.

Cast Update:
Maryn is doing pretty well! She is finally walking again! We went in Monday and they decided not to put a new one on. Our next appointment is in 3 weeks. (3 days before the girls big walk down the aisle for Nick and Jenny's wedding! Pray for quick healing!)

Snow:
The girls spent some time outside in the snow today. They kept saying "Mommy, we're going snowing" as they were getting all bundled up.
Leah LOVED "snowing." She helped her daddy shovel the driveway and wanted to stay outside every second she could.
Maryn asked to go in the moment we walked out the door. Ahhh...such different personalities.
It took us about 20 minutes to actually get out the door, but it was so worth it to hear the excitement in the girls voices about going "snowing."
Maybe we'll go "snowing" again tomorrow. We've got lots of snow days ahead of us girls! :)

TTTS Awareness Day

Today is TTTS Awareness Day which affects about 1/3 mono-di multiples. (Mono-di multiples are "identical" and share a single placenta, like Brynn and Leah)

We went in for our 2 year appointment today. All of the girls look great!

I can't believe they are 2!

Leah is still our little peanut. She is long and lean.

She is in the 50-75% for height, and about the 5% for weight.

Maryn and Brynn are exactly the same height and pretty close in weight.

We don't actually know what Maryn's weight is since she is wearing a huge fiberglass cast! ;)

She's been doing really well with her cast. She's not in pain anymore, but she continues to tell us that she is "stuck." She gets pretty frustrated not being able to walk anywhere. She just scoots on the floor using her arms.

We're trying to encourage her to learn to walk on her cast. Unfortunately, she has NO interest and she is pretty strong willed, so we'll see what she decides to do.

We go in on Monday to check her break and get a new cast. (They want to keep it really tight, we'll update on her leg after that appointment!)

We're just hoping she'll be able to walk down the aisle for Uncle Nick's wedding on New Years Eve!

THANK YOU Grammie and Bev for coming with to our appointment! It helped to have extra hugs and kisses at the doctors office!

In addition to our broken leg, we found out that all 3 girls have ear infections.

Started antibiotics tonight...

Needless to say, our life isn't boring right now! ;) And since they turned two, Brynn and Leah have decided that they don't want to nap anymore...well, not for more than an hour.

I miss my 2-3 hour nappers!

We're growing up!
