Tough Days for the Dog

Hi, it's Reese. The Jonswold family dog.
You are probably wondering why I am hiding in mom and dad's bed.
Believe me, I have a good reason. The babies...they have teeth now.
They have lots of toys, teething rings, even cheerios to chew on. (which they sometimes drop on the floor for me! But, that is another story.)
Brynn...she's not interested in any of that stuff.
When I walk into the room, she gets a gleam in her eye and starts crawling toward me faster than I've ever seen her move. Her mouth is wide open and those sharp white teeth come right at me! Can you believe when these little tykes came home, some people were worried that I might bite? Well, it is totally the opposite. BRYNN BITES ME! I know I'd get in big trouble if I retaliated, so I just cry for mom. The first time she did it was on Sunday, and I was hoping she would forget how "fun" it was by Monday morning, but no cigar. First thing she did when mom took her out of her highchair...come after the dog!
So for now, if you are looking for me...I'm hiding in mom and dad's bed.
Don't tell Brynn.
Love,
Reese

Our Favorites

Hello there! Can you believe we are almost 10 months old???
We're getting to be such big girls! Mom and dad can hardly believe it!
We even like to do big girl things, like watch movies!
Our favorites are Praise Baby and Baby Einstein's First Moves.
Here we are....in our PJ's on Saturday morning all watching the silly animals on Baby Einstein. They make us giggle out loud!

Brynn likes to stand. Look at her! She's so strong!

Sometimes we try and get out of our playyard! ;)
We're so sneaky!

And we climb the stairs to see what mommy is doing in the kitchen!
Sometimes she gates us off, but if she forgets, we'll always come to see her! hee,hee

On Friday, we went to a place called the sculpture gardens with lots of our triplet friends. Here is a picture of us! See the big kids in the choo choo wagon on the right? Pretty cool, huh? We can't wait until we are big enough for a choo choo.
Can you guess which ones we are?? Here's a hint.....look for the red stroller!
Mommy parked in a parking lot and our stroller didn't fit out the door!! Can you believe it? We thought we might be stuck forever!! (Our daddy would miss us sooooo much!) Finally, we found a parking attendant for help. When she came to escort us out the ramp, she told us she was a triplet too!!! We thought that was so neat! She should have been in our picture!

Some more fun facts about us!

Our favorite "toys": The remote control and the telephone (not the silly fake one mom and dad try to give us, but the real deal!)
Our favorite food: Cheerios
Our favorite words: Dada and Baba
Our favorite animal: Reese! Our puppy! She makes us giggle every day!
Our favorite game: Peek-a-boo and wrestling with our sisters and daddy
Nuk or No Nuk? Maryn loves her Nuk. Me and Brynn....no thanks! Well, sometimes we do try and steal it from Maryn ;) There's definitely some toy stealing going on at our house these days! Look out!

We're crawling all over the place, so we keep mommy on her toes!
We hope you have a good week!

Love,

Maryn, Brynn and Leah

Stroller Ride for Kate!

Hi, Maryn here.
I just wanted to tell you about a neat thing I did this weekend.
I went on a stroller ride for my very good friend Kate. (She comes to babysit me sometimes!) My mommy pushed me around a lake in Edina so that we could raise money to beat ovarian cancer. We don't want anyone to ever have to be sick with ovarian cancer ever again!
My friend Kate was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, so I rode in my stroller all the way around the lake to support her! (Brynn and Leah wanted to come too, but since it was raining, mommy could only bring one of us and luckily it was my turn!) I had such a good time playing with Kate and mommy's other friends. Kate has a husband named Barry. He had some interesting hair on his face. I guess it was called a mustache. I like Barry. I like Barry's mustache.

Love,
Maryn (who now has 1 bottom tooth!)

P.S. If you want to read more about ovarian cancer, or its symptoms, you can visit http://www.mnovarian.org/

NICU Follow-up Appointments

Happy Fall! We hope you are enjoying this nice weather. We sure are!
Today we got to go back to Children's Hospital. (our home for 9 days after we were born)
We went to a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) follow up clinic where they check on us to see how we are doing. Guess what our doctor said about us?! He said we're model patients. He said he wouldn't have even known we were preemies. (if he didn't know we were triplets, of course) We're doing everything we should...and then some!
We all did our own tests with different teachers, so we wanted to take a minute to tell you about them. Maryn will go first.

MARYN

I weigh 19 lbs 10 oz. (Lots bigger than the last time I was at the hospital when I only weighed 3 lbs 2 oz!) I am 27 3/4'' long. My highest scores on my test were expressive language and fine motor skills.
Here is my breakdown when compared to my adjusted age:
My real age is 9 months old, my adjusted age is 6 1/2 months old cause I was born 2 1/2 months early. When the doctors look at us, they expect us to be on track for our adjusted age...or our age if we were born at 40 weeks like most babies are.
Cognitive Skills: 1 month ahead
Receptive Language:3 months ahead
Expressive Language: 4 months ahead
Fine Motor Skills: 4 months ahead
Gross Motor Skills: 1 month ahead
My doctor said that I favor the right side of my head and need to practice looking to the left and laying on my left side. That is probably cause that is the way I laid in mommy's tummy. We're going to work on that.
I had a very nice teacher and had lots of fun today!

LEAH

I'm still getting over my cold. (You can tell in my picture, huh?)
Daddy calls me the peanut of the group. I weigh 16 lbs 15 oz and I am 27 1/4'' long. I guess I have always been the peanut. I only weighed 2lbs 14 oz when I was born. I am wayyyy bigger now. I really liked my teacher. She made me smile. My highest scores were cognitive, fine motor and gross motor.
Here is my breakdown:
Cognitive Skills: 2 months ahead
Receptive Language:1 month ahead
Expressive Language: right on track
Fine Motor Skills: 2 months ahead
Gross Motor Skills: 2 month ahead

BRYNN

I got a sticker today. I loved my sticker. I also loved the paper on the table the doctor had me sit on. I tried to eat it. He said I couldn't but he gave me a stick to play with instead. He said he uses sticks to look in kids throats. I thought the stick was a fun toy. I weigh 17 lbs 3 oz and I am 27 3/4'' tall. My doctor thinks I am going to be an athlete cause I am so strong. My teacher had a hard time doing some of my tests cause I was movin' and shakin'! My highest area was fine motor.
Here is my test breakdown:
Cognitive Skills: right on track
Receptive Language:right on track
Expressive Language: right on track
Fine Motor Skills: 3 months ahead
Gross Motor Skills: 2 month ahead

We all had a lot of fun with our teachers and visiting the hospital! They said we are doing so good we don't have to go back for any more follow-up.
Pretty exciting day!

Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah

Sick Days

Well, at 9 months and 2 days old we caught our first colds. (I think mommy is regretting feeding us breakfast with the same spoon!)
We cough and sneeze and our noses are runny.
One good thing though is that we get to stay in our PJ's all day and there is lots of cuddle time. (even in the middle of the night! No time outs!)

In other new updates, Brynn is a crawling machine. She goes anywhere and everywhere. Yesterday, when our "uncle" Brett was here with his girlfriend Melissa, Brynn went up 2 stairs for the first time! Maryn and I have mastered the "army crawl", and are starting to get up on our hands and knees too. Look out mom and dad!

Tooth update:
Brynn-4
Leah-4
Maryn-0

xoxo,
Leah
