Have You Ever Kissed a Camel?

I have! Or, I guess it was more like he kissed me!I've heard mom say you kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince...but a camel???
We went to a petting zoo today, and the camel REALLY loved me!
I loved him too!
Guess what else? There was a newborn goat at the petting zoo named Leah.

(Right before this picture Leah the goat said Baa....REALLY loud...scared Leah the girl! I don't think they were too sure about taking a picture together. They both wanted their mommies!)

We went on some rides today too. Leah and Brynn LOVED the rides. Weeeeeee!!!

We even had some time to run around and play with daddy and papa at the park.

P.S. Did you happen to notice the big bruise on Maryn's head? She was jumping on the bed at the cabin..and she FELL OFF! Just like the little monkeys in the song. We're going to have to pay more attention to the tunes mom sings us! Lesson learned.

Fat Lip

We had our first bloody nose today. One going up the slide, one coming down...Maryn's nose (and lip) lost the battle. Thankfully the pain was short lived; after 5 minutes we had our happy Maryn again!

Another thing we have experienced this week...something I hoped we'd somehow missed...kids thinking it's fun to take their diapers off. We had one poop/playroom room incident I can't too soon forget! Thank God for a good carpet cleaner and a heavy duty vacuum.

I read somewhere that the average 20 month old should know between 20-50 words. I'm not sure if that's true, but it got me thinking. How many words do the girls know?
I started a list after dinner, it is by no means exhaustive, but it is a start.
I thought the girls might be interested to know how smart they were at 21 months ;)

Fun, Fun, Fun

Hi! It's Leah!
My mommy was out of town this weekend, so I got to spend 3 whole days with dad! We went out for wings. He got me this hat. I love dad-time!

Last weekend we went to a picnic with some of our triplet friends. It's hard for us all to sit still long enough for the mommies to snap a shot. We did our best! Cheese! Can you find us?

We went to the Children's Museum last week too. It was awesome! (especially cause they had bubbles!)


They had a place called Habitot too...especially for smaller kids like us. We ran and played with the animals.


We rode a bus, and drove a boat...

We even got to dress up like kitties. Meow!


You know what else?? Maryn can count to 9! Mommy has heard her do it twice! She doesn't do it every time, just when she wants to. Pretty smart for 21 months, huh?

Spoiled Girls Day!

We must have been very good girls lately!
The other day our Mimi came over, we got in the car and went to a place full of more animals than you could even count! (especially us, since we can only count to 3!)
Mommy helped us to pick out the animal that we liked the very best!




After some good shopping time, and many changed minds, we finally found the right ones! (we shop like Mimi and mommy! Especially Brynn, it took her a LONG time to find just the right one!) Maryn and Brynn picked bunnies. Leah picked a kitty.

We got in line and waited until it was our turn to stuff our animals with white fluffy cloud. We watched the lady to make sure she put just enough 'cloud' in our animals so they would be soft and perfect!



After our animals were all full, we had the most important job. We picked out their hearts and helped the lady put our special hearts into our special animals.

Maryn decided that after a long day her fluffy bunny must be hungry, so she shared her snack. Turns out that stuffed bunnies like goldfish as much as we do!

Hooray for our new friends!!!!!!!!

We were starved after a long morning! Lunch time!!! We took our kitty and bunnies to McDonald's. Yum! We showed them how before you eat, you have to wipe off your hands, your chair and the table so that you don't get germs. (We are our mother's daughters!)


As if we hadn't had enough fun for one day, after the mall, we went to the kiddie carnival at church! Balloons, ice cream, bikes and face painting! What more could a girl ask for?



Maybe just a dance to the band with Grammie and Poppa?

Bye-Bye High Chairs, Hello Boosters!

Angels on Earth

On my heart:

Today, we went to go visit Minnesota Perinatal Clinic. Just driving into the parking lot, I felt all of the tension and stress of my pregnancy creep back into my body. Anxiety, nervousness, uncertainty...
As we walked though the doors, and rode up the elevator, my memory was flooded by all of the times I rode that very same elevator, wondering what the appointment would bring.
During my pregnancy there were so many uncertainties:
-High risk triplet pregnancy
-High risk identicals
-A 2 vessel cord and marginal insertion
-Pre-term labor
-Incompetent Cervix and cerclage which funneled down to the stitch (quite literally meaning there was only a small stitch holding all 3 of my babies in)
-15 weeks of the strictest bedrest (meaning few showers, and using a commode next to my bed so that I didn't have to walk "all the way" to the bathroom)
-Home contraction monitors, more medicines and hospital trips than we could ever count
(not to mention the risk of twin-to-twin transfusion, preeclampsia, and brain bleeds, NEC, CP, heart defects, etc. after they were born!)
For those of you who don't know our story, I was admitted to the hospital at 21 weeks with constant contractions. Within the span of 10 minutes, I had a nurse practitioner come in to tell me they had never seen a pregnancy like mine have a good outcome, AND a hospital chaplain come to ask if we'd picked out names for our girls, cause you "can't baptize babies who have died, but you can do a naming ceremony if you choose."
Well, let me tell you, for anyone who needs a good story, this it IT!
God preforms miracles!
I've got 3 of them living under my very own roof.
It is all by the grace of God, and because of the knowledge and love of the amazing and wonderful staff and Minnesota Perinatal Clinic that my little ones are here to bless the world.

Lots of people wonder if I am bothered by all of the stares and smiles we get at the mall, church, playgrounds, restaurants, really anywhere we go.
The answer is emphatically NO!
I SEE the look that total strangers get in their eyes when they see my little girls.
It is like they have just seen a real life miracle.
Guess what...They have!

Triple the Fun!

Guess what we got to do on Friday?! We got to play with the 'other' Alison & Peter triplets. Their moms name is Alison, and their dads name is Peter. Just like our mom and dad!
Coincidence that we're all so cool? I think not... ;)

Saturday night, we got to have a sleepover with Grammy and Poppa, cause mommy and daddy went to a wedding. In December, WE get to be in Uncle Nick's wedding. Mom said we have to be really brave and walk down an aisle at church in beautiful dresses. We're going to have to start building up our courage. We will be 2 year olds by then. I think when you get to be two, you're probably pretty brave.
(I think two year olds still sometimes need their nonnies though, don't you??? Especially for courage! My mom's been a big softie about nonnie ever since we were sick a couple of weeks ago. I keep hoping she doesn't remember the rules.)
