Prayers for my Girls!

We've had a bit of a crazy day!
Leah has had a horrible "croupie" cough, and I took her into the doctors office today to have it checked out. They sent her home on some antibiotics and a nebulizer. During her second nebulizer treatment, she had a terrible reaction. She coughed up so much junk that she quite literally choked on it. Talk about scary!!! (Truly, it was top 5 scary moments since I've had my kids...including the NICU) Once she calmed down enough that I knew she was stable, I spent the next hour on the phone with pediatrics trying to figure out what to do next.
We'll be watching her closely tonight, and heading to the E.R. at Children's if it gets any worse. Her preemie lungs just can't handle too much junk!
Please, please pray for her. Pray that her lungs heal and she is able to quickly work out whatever is going on.
(on top of all of that she also has a double ear infection!) My poor baby!

Maryn and Brynn have colds too, but so far, they haven't been too bad. Pray that their lungs stay healthy.

Our little bout of illness has reminded me how important hand washing is! For the rest of the winter, we'll be careful to stay as healthy as we can! (Back to being the germ patrol and on house arrest for the winter!)

Thanks in advance for your prayers!
Alison

PDA Prayers

Hi Everybody,
I'm sorry we haven't written for a while.
Boy, time flies when you are almost one!
We have a busy week coming up this week.
We all have cardiology appointments. Remember when we were tiny babies, and the doctors
said that we had little heart murmurs?
They told us that when we were one year old we had to go back to have them checked out.
Dr. Baker is pretty sure that Maryn and my PDA's closed on their own a long, long time ago when we lived in the NICU, but Brynn's was still open when we went home.
If her test this Wednesday shows that it is still open, she might have to have a little surgery to close it.
We're told that it is a pretty routine day surgery (sometimes they do this surgery on babies that are less than a pound!), but we really want to ask you to pray that she (and all of us) won't have to have it. We're just praying that those little PDA's closed on their own.
We're so thankful for your prayers!

Love,
Leah

We will be sure to update you after this weeks appointments.
It is pretty common for preemies to have open PDA's. Brynn's was open 1 mm (tiny, tiny opening) when she went in for her first appointment last January. We're praying it has resolved.
Brynn and Leah's Echocardiogram Appointment-Wednesday
Maryn's Echocardiogram Appointment-Friday

We promise to let you know what happens as soon as we have our test results.
Thanks so much for praying for us.

Happy Halloween!

Hey! Guess who?!
It's us!!! I know we look like birds and bugs, but it's really Brynn, Leah and Maryn. We're just dressed up hoping to get some treats today on this day called Halloween. Do you have any treats?
Last year, we remember being squished up in mommy's tummy. (remember, we were a pumpkin last year!?!)
Hope you get lots of candy tonight!
Trick-or-treat!
Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah

Winter is coming!

Hi! Look at my new hat! Winter is coming. Winter is cold.
Me and my sisters needed some warm hats, jackets and mittens.
Do you like them?
We're all crawling and standing now. Boy, is it busy over here.
We love to play together. (but, sometimes we fight over toys. Brynn steals stuff from me and Leah. I love Brynnie. She's my sister. But she's kind of a bully sometimes! I think sometimes she forgets that I'M the oldest!)
We don't eat much baby food anymore. We eat big girl food. Yum!
In about a month we are going to be a whole year old. We're practicing eating big girl food cause mom said on our birthday we are going to have a big party and eat some cake.
I had a taste of cake before, and let me tell you....I can hardly wait for my birthday!

Lots of you have asked about diaper changes...like how many diapers do mommy and daddy change in a day?
Well, we counted and 3 little girls go through about 18-21 diapers a day.
Sorry Mr. Garbage man for our stinky "presents"!

Love,
Maryn

3 Little Pumpkins

Hey! Look at me! I am a cheesehead! hee, hee
Just kidding! It's me, Brynn!
What a fun week!!!
We're starting to eat lots of big girl foods...fruits and veggies and cheese.
This morning, we got PANCAKES!!! YUM!
Here are some pictures of us eating our favorite breakfast ever! Sometimes,
when it tastes sooooo good, it is hard to remember to take only one bite at a time!

We got to see our Great Grandma and our Great Uncle Art.
(Great Grandma bought us treats! It was so fun to visit her. Her neighbors came to see us too! We like them. They are nice!)

We love to play in the leaves!

And, we went to Mimi and Grandpas and we carved pumpkins! Halloween is coming.
We're gonna go trick or treating. We needed pumpkins for Halloween.
The inside of pumpkins feels yucky! But, I kinda liked it. (I even tried to eat it, but my mommy said "no no")

Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah

October Update

Happy October!
It's Leah.
We're 10 months old now...and guess what that means.
We're supposed to start eating food. Like real food...not mashed up, squashed food.
Mom wants us to eat off plates. I'm not too sure about that.
What's wrong with the old way? Today, I just stuck out my tongue at mom when she put my plate on my tray. I was trying to give her the hint, but she stuffed something called turkey in my mouth anyway. I spit it up at her. NO THANKS MOM!
We'll see. Maybe some day I will like this way. For now...I like the old stuff. Smashed fruits, veggies and Cheerios!!!

In other big family news, we're going to be FLOWER GIRLS! Our uncle Nick is getting married on New Years Eve of next year! We don't really know what flower girls do, but we do know that we have to walk down an aisle at church. So we're going to start practicing walking now! We heard that we get to wear princess dresses too! So cool! We can't wait!

Also, we have a new cousin. Her name is Abby. She was little when she was born, like us! (not quite as little though! She was 3 lbs 14 oz) She's still livin' in the hospital. Soon, she will come home though. We're excited to have a little cousin! We can teach her all about toys and books. We'll be such good friends!

Love,
Leah

Tough Days for the Dog

Hi, it's Reese. The Jonswold family dog.
You are probably wondering why I am hiding in mom and dad's bed.
Believe me, I have a good reason. The babies...they have teeth now.
They have lots of toys, teething rings, even cheerios to chew on. (which they sometimes drop on the floor for me! But, that is another story.)
Brynn...she's not interested in any of that stuff.
When I walk into the room, she gets a gleam in her eye and starts crawling toward me faster than I've ever seen her move. Her mouth is wide open and those sharp white teeth come right at me! Can you believe when these little tykes came home, some people were worried that I might bite? Well, it is totally the opposite. BRYNN BITES ME! I know I'd get in big trouble if I retaliated, so I just cry for mom. The first time she did it was on Sunday, and I was hoping she would forget how "fun" it was by Monday morning, but no cigar. First thing she did when mom took her out of her highchair...come after the dog!
So for now, if you are looking for me...I'm hiding in mom and dad's bed.
Don't tell Brynn.
Love,
Reese
