Set Sail to Sugar Lake

Yo Ho Maties,
This weekend Jake and His Crew (aka. MBL) set sail for Sugar Lake.
We totally love Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so when you see us, you can call
Brynn-Jake
Leah-Izzy
Maryn-Cubby
Daddy-Captain Hook
Mommy-Mr. Smee
Reese-Skully (the parakeet)
Check out our pirate gear!
We spent lots of time sailing the Jolly Roger and Bucky, looking for mermaids, squidee (the bad guy), and TREASURE!

Did you find any treasure in that sandbox, Cubby?
Getting ready to board the Jolly Roger.
Pirate Grammy told us bedtime stories!
And, there was a big flood!
Shiver me timbers!
Good thing we brough our rain boots!

This year at Sugar Lake, we are big enough to walk the plank!
(Well, if Captain Hook catches us, of course)
Ready, Hook?

Oh, what a fun weekend we had in the sun!
Looking forward to lots of treasure hunts at the lake this summer.
Later maties!
XOXO
Jake and his crew

Preschool Year End Concert

Hi everybody!
Well, last week was our last day of Mrs. Lisa's preschool.
Mom made us a special breakfast to celebrate. We had rolls with candles on top.
Mom sang, "Happy Last Day of School" and we blew out the candles.
Then, we got dressed and headed to our big program!

Maryn wasn't so sure about singing in front of all those mommies and daddies.
Brynn was nervous at first too!
But, then we really got into it!

Well except for Maryn.

Is this over yet?

Here are our wonderful teachers.
Thank you Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Diana!

What a fun day to celebrate a wonderful year!
See ya next year, teachers!

xoxo,
The Jonswold girls

Garden for Mothers Day and Singing in the Rain

Hi everyone! Summer is finally here.
We are so excited to be wearing shorts and short sleeve shirts.
We're counting the days until we get to go back to Sugar Lake.
Every morning we get up and ask if today is the day!
Mom says it is soon.
For Mothers Day, we made birdhouses at school.
Mom loved them so much!
We told her we wanted to put them out in the garden to see if the birds like to live in them.
Grammy helped us plant pretty flowers.

Awesome garden, huh?
Pink, purple, and green...our favorite colors!

Last night there was a big storm at our house.
Mom let us go outside, collect hail, and splash in the puddles.
Boy, oh boy, did we have a fun time!
We splashed, laughed and sang songs about rain.
Who knew rain could be so fun???

Love,
MLB

Maryn, Brynn, Leah and the Terrible, Horrible, Very Bad Morning!

Today was our race day! March for babies day!
We've been excited to "run our race" for weeks.
We even got new shoes and team shirts.
At the shoe store, Leah asked the sales lady which shoes were the fastest. She wanted the very fastest shoes so that she could beat poppa to the finish line.
We could hardly wait to get to Parade Stadium this morning.
We got pretty purple ribbons in our hair to match our team shirts and Velcroed up our shoes.
But, when we got there...AS SOON as we got out of the car...we just wanted to go  back home!
We were freezing!
No, freezing is an understatement. What is a stronger word for freezing?
We wanted to get a big team picture. It was simply too cold to gather everyone.
So thank you to our AMAZING team! (The Norton Family, The Vincent Family, The Westvig Family, The Newman Family, Grammy and Poppa, Mimi and Poppa, Ms. Pam and Mr. Dave, Uncle Nick and all of our friends who march with our cousin Abby! You are amazing!)
With bright pink cheeks, frozen toes, purple lips (literally), and a temp hovering around 35', we raised over $3000 for March of Dimes.
You'll notice that today was a terrible, horrible and very bad day. But, there was some good that came out of it. (which is why we didn't say it was a terrible, horrible, NO GOOD, very bad day.)
We raised money for preemies. For healthy babies. For Spencer Peterson who is in the NICU right now. So that babies who were born early, like us, can live healthy, happy lives.
Mom and dad....we're all for a good cause, but next year...maybe we could organize a bowling tournament?!?
Love,
Maryn, Brynn and Leah
